Are We Going to Get in Trouble?

One day in the last week I got back home in the evening as usual after work and I found at home this strange letter from the gas company.. it was starting something like that: "To the Unknown User"... well it started good I thought... after reading through I discovered that we have being using the gas without paying since September and that was confirmed by my flatmate Billy who called the gas company to know about the letter...
Well we are not in charge of taking care of the gas because we're paying a rent which includes every kind of home expense (electricity, gas, internet, and whatever.....) We then called our landlord to inform him about this letter and he said ".. well you do not have to worry about that... just leave the letter at home that someone will collect it..." ... It was morning and I was a little bit sleepy than I said ok... but after that I thought.... hey wait.. are we going to be cut the gas out?... So far so good... but if some day we'll run out of gas we know now why......
The strange thing is that the gas bill is not being payed since September and I am wondering how it is possible that the gas company noticed the activity only now after three or four months we're there... and more... if the previous owner shut down the contract why we're still able to use the gas...? .... well stay tuned!

The Chinese Hot Pot Thingy...

A couple of weeks ago we me and my flatmate Chrisi dropped by our friends Mukaddim and Ziyuan to try the Chinese Hotpot.... So what's this Chinese thingy? Well pretty interesting I have to say.... basically it is all about a boiling pan/wok and a lot of food going in and out of the boiling water.... For this session we had: lamb, Chinese veggies, mushrooms, and seafood along with some spicy powder...
It took a while to prepare the whole thing but when the table was dressed and the water was boiling it all became a great fun... the lamb was cut like thin ham and really seemed to me like ham.... never tried something like this....
We were five and enjoyed the Chinese hot pot for almost three hours just dipping food in boiling water and eating.... it is something really interesting to try... so just grab a wok and start!

Bowling!!

I started a new activity in the last month that suddenly keeps me busy on Friday and maybe (because of the better prices) on Thursday nights it is... bowling! After finishing work at the Uni we normally make a group and go to Melbourne Central at Kingpin Bowling. The place is really cool and has ten bowling tracks ... on weekdays you got one game ten shots for 16 bucks... On Thursdays you got two games at the price of one game. If you do not like bowling there are pool, videogames, and other stuff.

I played bowling only once before, but I'm kinda getting used to it, and I always have a lot of fun while I go there. They give you this funky shoes to enter on the bowling track and the rest is well... you know history!
The more I go there, the more I manage to make this bowl go on line and hit all the standing pins. Most of the times the bowl stays in line till the end and finally deviates on one side missing all the pins. What I discovered is that the bowl is really sensible to the vibrations of our hand while we keep it and throw to bowling track.

Well probably it only takes more practice and more time... and this is definitely what I'm gonna doing in the next months! So catch up at kingpin.

new plans, new commitments, ... new blog!

This morning while I was having my aussie breakfast in Lygon and I was looking around at all those cafés and restaurant in the street I've come up with this really challenging idea.... why not keeping a record about all the places I went to eat in Melbourne? I said, then... why not? and now I just started this new plan and here's the blog. I just have two entries so far 'cuz my budget is not huge but I will try to feed it (and me) as most as possible.
... keep you all the fingers crossed.

the never ending summer

Port Melbourne Beach - Melbourne, Victoria, Australia This weekend I went to the beach... summer is now finished since three weeks but it does not really seems like so... yesterday we had a maximum temperature of about 39°C, the same as the the day before, and the whole weekend has been pretty hot even if a little bit windy.
Things seems to get cooler for this week and we'll reach 20°C on friday, then maybe Easter should be the last weekend to spend at the beach swimming.... We got 5 days of holiday and a good BBQ followed by the beach would very very nice.....
..... ah.. I'm loving this place.

That's the aussie way to start the day.....

That's the Aussie way.... - Street Café, Lygon St, Melbourne, Australia We'll finally I made it..... I got my first Australian breakfast... last weekends I was too lazy to get up in the morning and the day started always in the afternoon.... but this time... oh man... I did it! I really missed this breakfast eggs and bacon in the morning are pretty nice.. but all the days.
The bacon is normally thick and you can have different types of eggs:
- scrambled
- fried
- pouched (aka boiled)
just one last word.... if you have never tried this... don't get scared about the early hour and go for it.

The Dark Side of the Rainbow.....

... when Pink Fl0yd meet the Wizard of Oz...

Last week my flatmate Guillaume told me about the movie "Wizard of Oz" and about some rumors that the Pink Floyd's album Dark Side of the Moon were somehow connected... then some days later I got curious and went on YouTube.... 'cuz I was sure that if there was something about this thing I would have find it there.... and yeah! I was true... Here is the thing we're talking about

oh... that's awesome! it really seems that they made the album for it... the music goes completely in sync with the movie especially for the first four parts.... and the third one is simply amazing!... Even though I have to say that it looks a little bit weird and creepy watching the Wizard of Oz with that music....
... maybe this is the reason why I really like it!
